    Statewide Prevention Plan

With funding support from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and coordination by the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (ANDVSA), more than 20 individuals participated in the development of a comprehensive approach to promote healthy relationships and healthy sexuality, with the ultimate goal of preventing sexual and teen dating violence before it occurs.

The Statewide Steering Committee (SSC), worked together for an 18 month period from 2007-2009 to develop an Alaska Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Plan. These voices represent diverse professions, regions, cultures, and experiences (link here to contributors).

    goals-of-plan
This plan establishes a framework within which we can organize and coordinate a range of prevention and promotion efforts over the next 8 years. When working in tandem with one another, the seven goals put forward in this plan, act as a foundation, in which we can organize our efforts to collaboratively achieve our vision.

ANDVSA has and continues to seek feedback from individuals, youth and adults, through surveys, phone calls, and individual meetings. We know that this plan is stronger as a result of the contributions from across the state. Please accept our gratitude for your assistance in developing this document.
