Upcoming Trainings (In State):
Online DV/SA Course
ANDVSA and UAS are excited to announce the open registration of their first Blackboard course, Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. The first course will start on Monday, November 11 and end on Monday, November 25. Brittany Luddington, Training Project Director, will be the instructor for the course. ANDVSA Member Program cost: $55.00 per student. Non-Members: $75.00 per student. This course will provide most of the foundational topics necessary for new staff, to include:
Understanding Domestic Violence
Impact of Domestic Violence on Children
Trauma Informed Care
Mandated Reporting of Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse
Orders of Protection
Understanding Sexual Assault
Crisis and Suicide Intervention
Vicarious Trauma and Self Care
This is not a college-credit course, however, students will be provided a UAS certificate of completion upon finishing and passing the course. Limited scholarships are available for Member Program staff, contact Brittany at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
ANDVSA is providing a 3-day Legal and Wellness Conference, December 9-11 at Homewood Suites in Anchorage. A Save the Date has been sent to ED’s of member programs and official registration information will be sent the first week of December. Legal topics will include: Confidentiality, Collaborating with Law Enforcement and District Attorney’s Office, Immigration and Interpreters, Family Law (basic and advanced), Protective Orders and Family Law Self Help Center. Wellness Topics will include: Mindfulness in advocacy work, Breath work, and Office-Friendly Yoga and Posture Awareness. Please contact Taelyn, email@example.com for more information. Space and scholarship availability is limited to 2 participants per program.
Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Training:
