    Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Online Training Course @ Online Course through University of Alaska Southeast
    Aug 1 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

    This four and a half week online course is designed to increase understanding of the ways in which domestic violence and sexual assault impact our world, communities, and individual personal lives. The instructor will be Ariel Herman, Training Project Coordinator for the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

    This course provides CEU credits and covers the 40 hour training requirement for DV/SA advocates.

    It is hosted by University of Alaska Southeast through Blackboard online learning.

    Advocacy Training Conference with the National Hotline @ BP Center Anchorage

    The National Domestic Violence Hotline, in partnership with ANDVSA and the Office of Violence Against Women, will be joining us in Anchorage at the BP center on September 22-24, 2014 to host an advocacy training. This two and a half day advocacy training will cover topics like: Domestic Violence and Trauma/Crisis Intervention; domestic violence, children and custody; how to address challenging callers; safety planning; domestic violence and pregnancy; safety planning; working with people with disabilities; compassion fatigue and fostering resilience; sexual violence; technology safety and how to use technology to build stronger connections in Alaska.
