May 7- 9	3rd Annual School on Addictions: Recovery: Creating and Sustaining Change by SADA (Substance Abuse Directors Association of Alaska )	Sheraton Hotel, Anchorage, AK	The Annual School provides the opportunity for counselors and other professionals to: Earn continuing education credits, Learn new skills to better help their communities, Understand their roles as members of a skilled and important community of helpers, Share with each other community successes, Celebrate recovery, Affirm that there is support for their skills and work For over 30 years more than 500 participants learn and teach at this important annual event. May 8-9	Tribal Domestic and Sexual Violence Codes by Sacred Circle	Prior Lake, MN	This session will explore options for developing tribal laws that better reflect the purposes and needs of the tribe. The session will also discuss the advisability of utilizing the tribe’s own personnel, who have first hand knowledge of the problems and goals of any new tribal law, to draft and develop new statutes. The session will also explore adapting existing statutes from other tribes or jurisdictions rather than starting from scratch when developing a tribal law. Go to the Registration Form
May 28 - 30	Sexual Harassment in the Workplace by Sacred Circle	Albuquerque, NM	Sexual harassment is part of the continuum of sexual violence against women. Unlike other forms of sexual assault/rape, sexual harassment is legally considered a civil rights violation rather than a crime. The effects of sexual harassment are still potentially devastating. This workshop will provide an understanding of the definition and dynamics of sexual harassment. Participants will review examples of policies and procedures to help prevent and eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace. Provision of advocacy for women who are targets of sexual harassment is a special focus of this workshop.Go to the Registration Form
