| May 8-9 | Tribal Domestic and Sexual Violence Codes | Prior Lake, MN | This session will explore options for developing tribal laws that better reflect the purposes and needs of the tribe. The session will also discuss the advisability of utilizing the tribe’s own personnel, who have first hand knowledge of the problems and goals of any new tribal law, to draft and develop new statutes. The session will also explore adapting existing statutes from other tribes or jurisdictions rather than starting from scratch when developing a tribal law.

Albuquerque, NM | Sexual harassment is part of the continuum of sexual violence against women. Unlike other forms of sexual assault/rape, sexual harassment is legally considered a civil rights violation rather than a crime. The effects of sexual harassment are still potentially devastating. This workshop will provide an understanding of the definition and dynamics of sexual harassment. Participants will review examples of policies and procedures to help prevent and eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace.
