The purpose of ANDVSA’s Legal Project is to increase the ability of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to effectively access and participate in the civil and criminal justice system by providing legal advocacy training and support for advocates and providing free legal representation for qualified victims. The Legal Project works collaboratively with its 18 member programs and three affiliate programs as well as other legal service providers across the state, including the Alaska Immigration Justice Project, Alaska Legal Services, and the Alaska Native Justice Center. ANDVSA’s Legal Project provides training, technical assistance, and resource materials to advocates across the state. Our Pro Bono program, a component of our Legal Project, provides direct civil legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, through either staff attorneys of volunteer attorneys.
