ANDVSA provides a voice at the Alaska State Legislature responding to legislation and educating legislators on the intended and unintended consequences for victims and survivors of proposed legislation.   We research and analyze possible legislation, examine practices and policies being used throughout Alaska and how these issues have been addressed in other states.
In addition to legislation, ANDVSA works with our membership to ensure that Alaska has a strong network of services that provide critical, community-based resources to meet the needs of sexual assault and domestic violence survivors and their families.  Along with Network member programs, we educate and inform the Alaska State Legislature and Governor’s Office about financial resources that are needed so that local programs can adequately provide shelter, advocacy, and other essential support services to the victims and survivors they serve.
